The family Theraphosidae is a spider family composed of the infamous tarantulas. An approximate 900 species have been discovered. Tarantulas are generally harmless but some are lethal. The most dangerous trait to watch out for is that some are capable of shooting tiny hairs at you. These can lead to irritation and infection.
