Family – Sicariidae
(Recluse Spiders)
Spiders in the family sicariidae are well known for their venom. It is composed of two genera and 122 species. Their venom is necrotic which means that it "accidentally" destroys cells. Since it is accidental the immune system does not recognize it, and it is not engulfed by phagocytes (digestive cells). The spiders in sicariidae only have six eyes, as opposed to the regular eight.
