The family Pisauridae is made up of nursery web spiders. The females will lay her eggs in an egg sac inside an underground burrow. She will then stand guard outside. These spiders find it difficult to walk on smooth surfaces such as glass but are able to walk on water. The mother will try to kill the father after birth. In turn, the father will give the mother a gift, such as food, in hope of satisfying her.
