The Stripe-winged Grasshopper is an easily overlooked species with the British grasshoppers. This species is most likely confused with the Common Green Grasshopper. The Stripe-winged grasshopper has a white stripe along the wing and white stigma. They latter doesn’t have a red tip. It’s not easy to see but it also has a more definite characteristic on its wings. The area contains enlarged cells in the center area of the wings. These insects range to about 17-19mm.
Usually the Stripe-winged grasshopper’s development cycle begins from the middle of June. This species of grasshopper winter its eggs into the ground during reproductive system.
