The Stripe-winged Grasshopper is an easily overlooked species with the British grasshoppers. This species is most likely confused with the Common Green Grasshopper. The Stripe-winged grasshopper has a white stripe along the wing and white stigma. They latter doesn’t have a red tip. It’s not easy to see but it also has a more definite characteristic on its wings. The area contains enlarged cells in the center area of the wings. These insects range to about 17-19mm.

Usually the Stripe-winged grasshopper’s development cycle begins from the middle of June. This species of grasshopper winter its eggs into the ground during reproductive system. These grasshoppers live in lean grasses. The Stripe-winged grasshoppers eat lean grasses or other plants just like other grasshoppers. Sites
