The red locust is in the order orthoptera and is in the phylum arthropod well it is a locust and has two wings. The female locust can lay around 70-90 eggs in some areas. Also they only come out in daylight if it is at least 79 degrees and only moves up to 12-18 miles per day. You can find them in dry years. The length of a female locust is 60 - 85 mm and a male locust can be up to 60 - 70 mm. Also their color is a light brown and their hind wings are reddish color. But they are mostly green.

 

What they eat by would be maize, rice, sugarcane, fruits, wild herbaceous species and trees such as acacias, eucalyptus and pines. When Africa was invading the plague most of them died because it killed most of their food and they were killing them because they had no food to eat. The red locust lives in Sahara which is in Africa. It has been sighted in Zambia, Tanzania, Malawi Madagascar, Reunion, Sahel, Cape Verde, Niger River, Mali, Lake Chad.

 

The diet of a red locust is mostly anything that they can find such as corn, but they stay in corn most of the time. The diet of a red locust is that they eat vegetables, fruits, and many other things.
