Family - Balaenopteridae
(Rorqual Whales)

The family Balaenopteridae is the largest group of baleen whales, with six species placed in two genera. The common name is Rorqual. It includes minke, Bryde’s, sei, fin, humpback. It also includes the largest animal that has ever lived, The Blue whale which can reach 170 tons and the length can be 20-28 m. And another that can easily reach 55 tons. The smallest group, the Northern Minke Whales, reaches 9.9 tons and a length of 8-10 m long.
