Tribolodon brandtii, pacific redfin, is a fish that can grow up to almost one foot long. There are more than 20,000 fish species recorded. Tribolodon lives in freshwater from 50 to77 degrees Fahrenheit. These completely harmless fish are most likely to be found in Japan, Korea, and other parts of Asia.
Tribolodon reproduces from May to September. When the babies are born, they are 7 to 9 cm. The female hides her eggs in the coarse gravel. The Tribolodon can live to be about 10 years old.
The Largemouth bass and the Micropterus salmoides prey on the Tribolodon. An interesting thing I learned about this fish is that it lives in Asia.
