The Average life span of a goldfish is around 12 years. They can live much longer, even up to 20 years of age when given the correct environmental conditions. Taking on the responsibility of caring for a goldfish is quite a commitment!

Goldfish can get a lot of diseases. Here are some of the diseases goldfish can get: Anchor Worm, Black Smudge, and Dropsy. Anchor Worm is when fishes scrape against an object; tiny white-green worms are attached to a wound on the goldfish, ulcers. The Black Smudge is when fish have black on their body.
