The Cypriniformes common fish that are kept in aquariums, including the carps, minnows, loaches, and relatives. This order has 5-6 families, and over 320 genera. New spices are discovered all the time. They are mostly in southeastern Asia but can be found in fish tanks all around the world.

 

The Cypriniformes differ from their relatives because they only have a dorsal fin on their back. They also do not have teeth in their mouth but have teeth in their throat. Many species of this order are important food fish, particularly in Europe and Asia. Some are also important as aquarium fish, of which the goldfish and koi are the most celebrated.
