Canthigaster callisterna is about 23.0 cm. The coloration of a clown Toby is that the top half of the Clown Toby is yellowish or brownish with many fine blue spots and fine lines. The bottom half is white or yellow with fainter spotting. Along the centre there are two parallel dark stripes with a white stripe run the length of the body? It has been recorded that the dark stripes often fade in males, and can disappear altogether when courting often seen in parts. They are adapted to fresh water, and Have a beak with fused teeth.
The clown toby eats a variety of encrusting animals like sponges, bryozoans, ascidians and small crustaceans. As well as being poisonous, they are a type of puffer fish that inflate themselves with water in an effort to ward of predators. Their main habitat is around reefs, and they like to sleep in orange finger sponges. Clown Tobys are found in New South Wales, including Lord Howe Island and Norfolk Island, and New Zealand, Southwest Pacific Ocean including Australia, New Caledonia.
There are more clown Toby fish every day. They can lay about 500 hundred eggs. There are thousands of clown toby fish.
