Known as the ground love, Haplophilous Subterraneus is one of the longest and broadest of the British geophilid.

The animal’s size if usually 70 mm long and 1.5 wide, it is sometimes smaller or longer. Its color is yellow/brown, it is dark and looks like it is glowing. Its head is the darkest part of its body. It has only one adaptation, its antennas are super sensitive, they feel any movement and anything else around them. Some characteristics are that it is a centipede so it is segmented, each segment had 1 pair of legs. For a small creature it is complex.

The Haplophilous Subterraneus mostly lives underground. Some are found under rocks or found next to any plant roots. Haplophilous Subterraneus are found mostly in Britain or in other parts of Europe. The population of the Haplophilous Subterraneus is not increasing nor decreasing, it stays the same.

The Haplophilous Subterraneus eats the roots of any kind of plant.  It does not eat in a special way. It has a full digestive system. The predators  of the Haplophilous Subterraneus are birds like eagles and other big birds, as well as mice. Because they live underground, they are not often seen.

 

The Haplophilous Subterraneus is a centipede it mostly lives in Britain it is brown and lives under rocks and ground.Its importance in life is it kills dangerous plants.
