Habitat and Range Habitat- low and a tropical forest.  it is not globally threatened and suffers from deforestation. It is secure in national parks where it is protected

Where can they be found? - They can be found in Asia and India Size of population They are rare but are not endangered This owl likes to eat small mammals like birds and reptiles. It does not have any predators that I have found, so it does not have to defend itself.

One interesting fact I learned about the brown wood owl is how they breed. The brown wood owl breeds between the months of January and April. They make nests in the cavity of trees. They lay 1 to 2 eggs which are incubated for 30 days.

Another interesting fact is in Hindu mythology, owls were described as the Uahana of goddess Lakshmi, the Hindu god of wealth and prosperity. In other cultures owls are considered as a bad omen and a messenger of ill-luck.
