Would you like to hear about this wonderful bird known as Mitu tuberosum or commonly known as Razor-billed Curassow? Mitu tuberosum is a species of bird in the Cracidea family. Mitu tuberosum usually are encountered as pairs or sometimes as a single individual. The Mitu tuberosum was formly treated as a subspecies of mitu mitu. But today this scientific name is restricted to the extremely rare alagoa.

The size of the Mitu tuberosum is 83-89cm. Their color is mostly black, but on the tip of their tail they have white. A shorter name or the common name for the Mitu tuberosum is the Razor-billed Curassow. You can find this unique bird throughout the large part of the Amazon Rainforest.

Mitu tuberosum occurs mostly in lowland primary forest in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, and Peru. Sometimes it is found through a large part of the Amazon Rain forest, though largely restricted to regions south of the Amazon river. With only 300 wild living animals, the Razor-billed Curassow is endangered.

The Mitu tuberosum primarily takes fruits from the forest floor.
