The Atlas Beetle is indigenous to Thailand, Burma, and other countries of Southeast Asia. Commonly found in rotting logs of the rainforests. Can grow to lengths of 10-30 cm. Only the males are horned, they are used for fighting other males but do not use them for defense from predators. In some parts of Thailand, locals use these insects in beetle fights that bring in hundreds of dollars in betting.
