There are very many mantises in the world but my opinion is that mine is the best and I am going to show you why. The common name is Gurders Mantis and scientific name is Acontista multicolor. It is one of the only mantises that is different colors. The reason for this essay is to learn the importance of this animal.

In this paragraph I will be teaching you about the general description. It is ½ inches to 4/5 inches.  My animal is not just one color it is many different. This is a small species so the nymphs should feed on D. melanogaster or similar sized prey. This bug should be in 60-70% humidity. So far I have talked about the general description but there very much more to learn about this animal.

The habitat, population, and conversation are very important to this animal. The current stock in captivity was collected in Venezuela during June 2009. There are 1894 species of them and they are not lowering they are staying the same. The mantis should be in these temperatures ruing the day 25-27 and during the night time 23. These are the reason habitat, population, and conversation is important.

This paragraph will be about diet, feeding habits, and predators. This animal is pretty low in the food web. This mantis eats flies. Adults can feed on drosophila hydei, bluebottles, and similar sized prey. They are known to be somewhat cannibalistic than other mantis species but separation at 3-4in. recommended although some have kept them together all up until adulthood without many casualties.

This paragraph is going to conclude this report this animals important because there is not one that is exactly like it. It is one of the only ones that have different colors. This I thought was most interesting about my animal is that a female will lay multiple eggs in as little as a week apart from each other. It all depends on how much you feed her. I really enjoyed studying this animal and I also learned a lot.
