The white spotted jellyfish’s scientific name is phyllorhiza punctata. It usually lives in Hawaii and Australia. It feeds by using its stingers called nematocysts. Their stingers come out when triggered by passing plankton or small fish. Jelly fish are slow and rely on prey bumping into their tentacles. They usually stay more towards the surface of the ocean.

They can reproduce both sexually and asexually. When the female has her eggs she usually holds the eggs in till the male had release its sperm into the water. P. punctata it is very large (60 cm) compared to other jellyfish. The adult jellyfish is usually 94-98% made up of water. P. punctata produce 10 million offspring a year.
