Don’t let the word porcupine fool you just because of the quills.  The Malayan Porcupine is a neat and unique animal.  It’s hard on the outside but there is no words of what it’s like to have the life of a  Malayan Porcupine.

The Malayan Porcupine’s population is 3,490,356 and there population is growing today. They are a beautiful chocolate chip brown with yellow, black, and white striped quills.  The Malayan Porcupine has four claws in the front and five claws in the hind legs.  Humans use a Malayan Porcupines foot as a good luck charm and use a Malayan porcupines quills for beautiful home decorations.

A Malayan Porcupine can live up to 9.5 years, they can weigh up to 17.6 lbs and can be as tall as 6-11 centimeters. Their quills get harder as they grow into their  adulthood. These quills are a strong protection for their predators.  Their predators are feral cats, wild hogs, and other animals who live in the same region.  Their population is growing still in 2011. A Malayan Porcupine conversation status is non threatened.

A Malayan Porcupine has the diet and eating habits of pumpkins, melons, potatoes, roots,  corn, tomato, and other farm foods. The Malayan Porcupines habitats are near rock trees and always stay in a pack. They can be found in the countries of Burma, Cambodia, China, India, Malaysia, Nepal, Singapore, and Vietnam.

As you can see, the Malayan Porcupine is a very unique porcupine, but shy. A special thing about the Malayan Porcupine is the beauty. The beauty is the most special thing to me about a Malayan Porcupine and how  quills stand out from any other animal if the forest.
