Groundhogs are actually pretty  interesting  once you start to know a lot about Groundhogs Day and how it comes out of the ground and sees it’s shadow.

Groundhogs can grow up to 40 to 65 centimeters  and be 6 inches tall and weigh 4 to 9 lbs. Its body temp. drops between 43 and 57 degrees when it goes into hibernation.

Groundhogs usually live in tunnels  5 ft. underground   to hibernate and to keep away from predators. They can move 170 lbs. of dirt at a time. They also like open countries and edges of woodland.

They usually live from two to three and six years in the wild. There predators are Wolves, Coyotes, Foxes, Bobcats, Bears, large Hawks, Owls, and Dogs.

Groundhogs usually eat wild grass, grubs, grasshoppers, insects, snails, nuts, and other small animals.

There is at least three groundhogs in 2.5 acres of land. They are hunted for sports.

There known as a woodchuck or a land beaver. When a groundhog sees its shadow on February  2, that means there’s six more weeks of winter and if it doesn’t  that means there’s going to be an early spring. They can also swim and climb trees.

Finally, Groundhogs are  pretty interesting to me because of groundhogs day and  stuff.
