Family - Gekkonidae (Geckos)
Geckos are average to small sized lizards that belong to the family Gekkonidae. Some of the family members can be quite small. Geckos make a chirping sound to call to other geckos. There are an estimated 2000 different geckos with new discoveries happening all the time. The name gecko comes from the noise they make. Some geckos have footpads that allow them to cling to smooth surfaces and even climb vertical surfaces.
