Both sexes of the Siberian Crane are pure white, except the black primaries. The face of it is bare and a dark red, their beak is a dark color, and their legs are pinkish. Most people think that when this bird is scared they stick their beaks in the ground but what they are really doing is sticking their beaks in the mud and smear it on their feathers thinking that it will protect them, they are not very smart birds. They mostly weigh 4.9-8.6 kg and stand at 55 inches tall. The size of their wings are 83-91 inches.

The Siberian Crane has a quite unusual habitat, they live in bogs, marshes, and any type of wetland on lowland. There are 3 distinct places of population, the largest population is in the eastern, that breeds in northeast of siberia(hence the name siberian). They soon move 3,100 miles to china by the Yangtze River. Most of these cranes that live and breed in siberia are female, the reason for this is obvious, females need partners to breed with so if they live in a habitat with many choices they have a more likely chance of breeding.

The crane has a diet like most animals,it consist of cranberries, rodents, fish, and insects.During winter they eat rich roots, and tubers from wetlands.Cranes have many predators since they live in many places, racoons and foxes are more likely and when the Crane lays an egg, bears will be the first ones to them.Wolves also prey on cranes but not the siberian crane.

The Crane is a highly dangerous creature, don't be fooled by their beauty because they can easily kill a child in less than an 1 hour! So if you think about messing with these birds, trust me don't even think about it!
