The Decipiens Firefly is a pretty cool insect. It gets up to at least 4.5-7.2 mm. It only glows when it is really young but when it’s older it doesn’t glow at all. I’m assuming there isn’t that much left because of how much information people on this particular firefly. The Decipiens is one of the most dangerous in the firefly family. They eat a variety of insects and have been found eating even some in their own species.

People don’t really know what kind of habitat they live in. But they live from Southeastern Canada and as far as south as Tennessee and Northern Carolina. The Western States are unknown.

The kind of predators it has is spiders, frogs, and some birds. But they would be very dangerous for some predators to eat because they have a poison in them that is very harmful to other animals.
