Cuterebra Lepusculi or commonly known as the Rabbit Botfly has amazing two big eyes with two red spots in the middle, but it disapears shortly after death. The C. Lepusculi is more often found in hot areas. But some are found in Washington State to South Dakota, and even in California.
Though this Botfly dosen't look harmful, well it is harmful to many rabbits. C. Lepusculi can range a measurement of 20mm, and their larvae grows to a minimum of 15mm-42mm in length to 7mm-10mm in width. Pfaffenberger (1988) in New Mexico found a host (S. Audubonii) by the botfly, Pfaffenberger was and still is committed to science and technology. Related species to C. Lepusculi are many different kinds of Beetles, Bugs, Butterflies, and Flies. Their coloration is a medium brown, with black stripes on the body. C. Lepusculi has a known hosts like, Cottontail rabbits, Sylvilagus Nuttallii, and recently S. Audubonii (the desert cottontail).
The Lepusculi has no true predator to watch out for. These animals are predators to rabbits or cottontails. C. Lepusculi has an incomplete digestion.
