I am going to tell you about the rabbit bot fly. In case you where wondering the rabbit bot fly is small. It lives in the U.S.A. I will be telling you all about the rabbit bot fly and what it does and how it benefits the animal community.
There are special characteristics the rabbit bot fly has. The average size of the rabbit bot fly is 15mm. The coloration of the rabbit bot fly is white with black spots. This is also one of the animal’s many adaptations. It helps the animal blend in, these are the adaptations my animal has.
Now I will be telling you about their habitat population and conservation. It is found in North America. There are about 100,000 of them all together. The conservation status is low meaning there is nothing to prevent you from killing them. Their life cycle last about 3-4 months. This is the population habitat and conservation.
Now I will tell you about its feeding habits and predators. Its role in the food chain is that it lives off of other animals. It only feeds in the lava stage and has no mouth. Its predators are frogs lizards birds ect. It prevents getting eaten by its ability to fly. This how they stay alive.
So the importance of my animal is that it kills the host for other animals. What stands out the most is that its coloration is so unique. My final thoughts on this are that it can sort of be considered to be a parasite.
