On the top wings there is black tips on there. Then with some blue stripes. They live in moist open areas where swamp thistles grow. Identifying the Characteristics reddish brown with two rows of irregular metallic lines. Much different than the upper surface. A light yellow/brown with black dots and silvery specks.
They live in swamps. They live so well because there are no predators in the area. They are found in Illinois, Ohio, Kentucky, Michigan, Wisconsin, Indiana, Arkansas, and Missouri.
The population level in 2000 was nearly identical to that of 1999, which may indicate that the site in its present condition has reached its carrying capacity. In fall of 2000, 17 host plants hosting 38 larvae were located. They are shrinking because there no more of them.
The thing that stood out to me was that the animal I have is endangered. Also that the swamp metalmark is unique to me.
There Predator is extinction because they have very low number.
