Lady Beetles are beetles that are very easy to identify: small, round bodies and usually red with black spots or the other way around.Probably they have always been populair in Europe.  These beetles eat Aphids.  One of the most common beetles is the seven-spoted beetle.  These beetles are not to hard to identify, they have seven black spots on their back.

The adult lady beetles can be seen from March to November but in the winter some remain active. The size is typical for most of the family 6-8 mm.  The larve is blue with pink spots.  They are usually foung by aphid colonies eating the aphids and othe insects.  The two spotted Lady Beetle is found in the USA.

The pine lady beetle is 4 mm a big one is 6mm.  A nickname for the beetle is a lady bird. The basic color is white and yellow, Almost in all cases the beetle is white.Your best chance of seeing this species is in autom,  Which is when the leaves fall and they climb back up the trees. The larve are interesting the eat aphids and scale insects.

Some of these beetles grow to 3-5 mm.  the beetle is very common when their are pines around.  Commonly the animal is red with two spots.  The beetle is normally shapped like a horse shoe.  In many gardens the beetle is very scarce.  Scientifically this animal used to be known as Exochomus quadripustulatus untill recently.

The only time you are going to see this beetle is April through October.  Usually found in Europe, common in leicestershire, and Rutland.  These are good and helpful facts if you are doing research on this beetle.
