Coming with a very unique name, The Castor fiber is a cool animal.  The Castor Fiber ranges in size. It has a tail and it walks on four legs. The castor fiber has small legs and five digits on them.  Castor fibers range in color.  Some are brown and or black. The Castor fiberis in Phylum Chordata.  This phylum includes animals like a Hoolock Gibbon, elephants, and other interesting animals.

The Castor Fiber is hunted for its fur and castoreum. Castroreum are two glands located next to the cloacal opening. These glands produce a sweet smelling chemical.

Some predators are humans, foxes, wolves, bear, lynx, wolverines, and otters. Humans hunt castor fiber for fur to make hats and coats. The teeth are used to make knives. People also hunt these beavers to make perfume. The castor fiber is recovering from being extinct after getting hunted from humans. In recent years, some European nations developed a protection of the beavers. This led an amazing recovery by about 639,000 beavers by 2003.The Castor Fiber is the second largest rodent in the world.

The Castor Fiber’s range is found in France, Germany, Poland, Southern Scandinavia and central Russia. The Castor Fiber is a semi-aquatic animal. Eurasian beavers live in lakes, ponds, rivers, streams, and swamps. The populations are scattered all throughout the mentioned areas. Some of these areas provided some deep damps for the Castor Fibers. They survive by eating plants and when there is a predator they hide in the damps.

The Castor Fiber is a herbivore in the winter the Eurasian beaver feeds on woody vegetation, leaves, roots, bark, stems, and fruit’s. Some of these predators like to eat the castor fiber. As you know the castor fiber is a cool animal. A lot of animals like to eat the castor fiber. People like to hunt castor fiber including us.

Some of the interesting facts of the Castor Fiber include the making of knives and coats using this type of animal.  Another interesting fact is that it is a herbivore.  A herbivore is an herb-eating animal. The Castor Fiber also has a sweet smelling substance that made them easy targets for hunters to sell this substance. Now you know some facts about the Castor Fiber.
