The mole rat is very interesting least concerned animal. Has many other is a lot like other animals. For example, many people confuse the mole rat for naked mole rat. Almost all animals can catch a mole rat and eat it.
The avarge mole rats body length is 10.5 to 16.5 cm. The tail is 1.2 to 3.8 cm. The fur is sliky with many different colors with a distinct white spot on the head. The shape of the body is cylindrical with short appendages. The mole rat has very poor eye sight.
The Common Mole rat is found all around South Africa except in the far left hand corner of the northern province. It is found in all sorts of habitats. Can live in any type of soil.
Common mole rats are characterized for having one reproductive pair. Consisting of the largest female and male in one group. Mating occurs between the mouths of September and October.
The mole rats population is of least concern. Even though the mole rat has many predators it has a big enough surplus of mole rats when they mate. The mole rats population is at highest.
Even though not a popular animal, the snorting, grunting mole rat is a very interesting animal.
