Let me tell you about the interesting features and characteristics of the blue poison dart frog. Firstly the Dendrobates Azureus is a medium-sized frog that grows 3 to 4.5 centimeters and weighs approximately 8 grams. Tadpoles vary greatly in appearance from adults the tail the tadpoles have is around 6 millimeters. The blue poison dart frog has a lifespan of 4 to 6 years in the wild. Although this animal is known for its skin toxin it is not used for poison darts. In order to find a mate, this animal sits down and make quiet calls, which the female follows and tracks. If more than one female finds this frog when it is making quite calls the females to fight over the male. This frog breeds seasonally in between March or February. This animal eats many different insects ants, flies, spiders, and caterpillars. Females are also a little bigger and have toes with round tips while the males have heart-shaped tips.
