The cactus wren is a bird that belongs to the troglodytidae family, is the color brown, grows up to be 18-23 inches long. It is native southwestern United States and southwards to central Mexico. My purpose is to educate and to show you what a cactus wren is.
In this paragraph I will be explaining the general description of the cactus wren. The cactus wren is a bird that can grow to be 18 to 20 inches long. It’s natural colors are brown and grey. It adapts to the desert due to it’s size and color.
I will be explaining the cactus wrens habitat, population, and conservation. It’s main habitat is in Arizona and they nest inside of cactuses. Their species are highly adaptive and the population is still growing to this very day. The conservation status is very large and still growing.
The role my animal plays in the food web is a that is a producer. The cactus wren eats insects like ants or beetles. On occasion it will eat small reptiles like lizards or frogs. The creatures predators are a large variety of desert animals. It includes coyotes, hawks, and foxes. They prevent attacks by building decoy bird nests and their small body is also an advantage.
In conclusion, the main importance of my animal are it’s defenses and survival techniques. The main thing that stood out is that it’s anti-defense mechanism to build a decoy bird nest is just amazing. My final thought is that I hope you learned something about the cactus wren.
