The King Vulture will mate during the dry seasons. During mating season they will lay one egg at a time. Their nest for their young are rotting logs, tree stumps or just a regular tree. The male and female will incubate the egg. The egg will hatch in a period of time around 53 to 58 days. The birds may wander away from the nest as they get older. When the young is around 18 months it is now an adult plumage. It takes 4 years for it to fully grow.
The King Vulture can be to at least 32 inches. The feathers are white, and around their necks the color of their feathers can range from orange, blue, red and yellow. Their waddle over their beaks are normally a very bright orange. Their tails feathers are usually black. The also have strong a pair talons and beak.
These large birds like to live in treetops at an elevation of 3937.01 ft. They normally live in Mexico, Argentina, and Trinidad, but when there are forests near the savannas and grasslands they could live there too.
They use the treetops as a source to find their prey. They would sit in the tree and use their eyesight to find a carrion, a sick or injured animal since they are scavengers. They would use their strong talons to hold their prey then they tear meat off with their beaks.
