This species is found in rainforests from Brazil to Venezuela. The females are not as the males, they have a brown edge with white spots that surround the blue area. The caterpillar is reddish brown with patches of lime-green on its back. By nature, the caterpillars are nocturnal and feed on a variety of plant material and leaves. Adult Morpho’s feed on the juices of rotting fruit.
