If you ever come across a beetle called Petrognatha Gigas you should look into it. The common name for this beetle is called Giant African longhorn beetle. It can mostly be found in centralAfrica. One of the adaptations that the Giant African longhorn beetle has is it’s resemblance to the moss and bark it feeds on. Another defense that is often used is their color or shape to trick enemies is called mimicry. They have a color of tan and black for camouflage.

The size of the beetle ranges from 50mm-100mm long, also you might notice their 4in long antenna. They eat and infest in maple sugar, red trees and etc. Their larva bores deep into these trees for food and water. If a tree is infested, best option is to cut it down. They live in dry temperatures and in trees. All though there aren’t many facts about this beetle, at least you probably learned a thing or two, know I did.
