Have you ever heard about the Praya Dubia? If not, lets swim right to it! This type of deep sea organism lives 700m to 2000m below sea level. It can also become bigger than a blue whale! Today, I am going to tell you all about this fascinating creature.

First off, I am going to explain some interesting facts about this animal. This unusual organism has a length of 40-50m, and its colors are normally a glowing blue color. This type of jellyfish adapts far below the ocean, and where it lives, 99% of the sunshine is absorbed by sea water. If brought to the surface, their body can burst because of the change. This animal has two nectophores (swimming bells) and a little piece of a long chain that makes it able to pull through the water, or swim. This is a very complicated animal with many amazing features.

Now, I will describe its habitat, population, and the conservation. This organism is found deep into the ocean, so it can be hard to find it at times. It is also one of the largest invertebrates there is. The conservation status of this jelly is good, because there is a large amount of its kind. This jellyfish has a very good population, and has been around for a long time.

Next, I will illustrate to you about how it needs to survive, by eating. Because they are so far deep in the ocean, the water is too cold and pitch black for photosynthesis to occur.  To survive and keep the population alive, they eat other fish that live next to them, because there is no plant life. When a predator comes looking for a meal, and if it tries to get this jelly, the Praya dubia’s reaction would be to sting it with its long stinging tentacles, and there is a possibility that its powerful sting can kill other fish. This jellyfish is one of the top notch predators in the ocean, so it doesn’t have many animals wanting to feast on it, so for that reason, it has a huge population. When the Praya dubia eats, they have a bulb-like structure that pulls them through the water. This stem has components that help capture food. They have a blue light that will attack their prey. They eat other jellyfish, and crustaceans.

As you can see, the Praya dubia is one of the longest creatures in the world. This animal has a glowing blue light, and lives very far in the depths of the ocean.  It is also one of the largest invertebrates in the ocean. In my opinion, I think this creature is amazing with its abilities to survive in the abyss of the ocean. This truly is a cool creature under the sea.
